Here’s the cover for my Fairy Tail next gen that I am Oh So close to finishing the first chapter of. Im going to be posting it on Wattpad when it’s done. I couldn’t think of a name that worked so now it’s: Just Another Fairy Tail Next Gen, which I think fits well enough. I can’t wait to get this posted! I’m really hoping to get some actual feedback on it one day!

DOBERMAN BOYFRIEND
Tumblr media
DOBERMAN BOYFRIEND who is bigger than you and seems like he could crush you with his bare hands alone. He usually seems intimidating, but he melts into a little puppy in your arms. You are the only one he shows affection to, while treating others with little to no respect, especially anyone who threatens your position.
DOBERMAN BOYFRIEND whose mindset is “wear whatever you want, I know how to fight.” He wants you to wear the prettiest dresses and stun everyone with your beauty wherever you go. He arrogantly shows you off, spitting into everyone’s faces that you’re his and only his. He’s not weak; if anyone so much as stares at you the wrong way, he will most definitely resort to violence.
DOBERMAN BOYFRIEND whose stare says “touch her and you die.” He fiercely protects you from everything and everyone who wish you harm. He will gladly make an enemy out of everyone and burn the world for you, because you’re the only one who matters to him. And he will keep choosing you over and over again, until he dies.
DOBERMAN BOYFRIEND who is such a gentleman to you. He opens every door for you and pulls the chair for you to sit. He loves spoiling you and will always carry your bags for you, following you around by the invisible leash you’ve got on him.
DOBERMAN BOYFRIEND who has come out of a dark romance book. Everything about him from the ink of the intricate tattoos adorning his skin to the air surrounding him is dark, only adding to his intimidating and mysterious aura. A devil in disguise tempting you to sin with him and fall to the pits of hell together.
DOBERMAN BOYFRIEND who cannot keep his hands off you. Sometimes it’s just small, innocent touches, like holding your hand or guiding you with his hand on the small of your back when you’re in public. But other times it’s more than that.
DOBERMAN BOYFRIEND who kisses you as if he’s suffocating and you’re oxygen itself, keeping him alive. His hands are all over your body, a smirk forming on his lips as he feels the way you squirm underneath him. And he can’t help but want to tease you until you’re crying.
DOBERMAN BOYFRIEND who loves overwhelming you with pleasure, making you cum time and again, while he hasn’t cummed once. And while desire to claim your body is threatening to take over him, he controls himself, wanting to hear you beg him to fuck you, because you cannot take it anymore; you just need him that desperately.
DOBERMAN BOYFRIEND who will fuck you until you’ve gone dumb on him, mixing praising with degrading words to describe how perfect you look right now. He loves it when you mark him up, scratching his back, biting him and leaving hickeys all over him. It only makes him more feral.
DOBERMAN BOYFRIEND whose love, obsession and possession over you overwhelm him when he holds your asleep body in his arms, because he knows he’s the only one who gets to see you like this. Nobody else. And he’ll keep it that way.

The Dragneel (Fairies Heirs)
Masterpost here!
Lucy asked Natsu out first (Happy never fails to remind her of that fact) a few months after the gang came back from the 100 years quest;
Do I need to say that Natsu was giggling for the whole day after?
Because Lucy initiated the first date, Natsu made sure he was the one who proposed (he asked Gadjeel and regretted and Gray who had that point were already fiancés. I’ll let you guys imagine the ideas that came out of the brainstorm between the three);
Finally after a discussion (he got mostly yelled at) with Jellal and Luxus, he decided to bring her to Hargeon where they first met and asked for her hand there;
Natsu asked for Aquarius' blessing (because in my dictature, Lucy got the key back) before proposing to Lucy;
Career wise: Natsu became one of the most sought out mage in the kingdom and even overseas while Lucy became a very successful author;
Lucy stopped going on missions when she got pregnant with their first child Ignia a few months after the wedding, and from that point only concentrated on her writing career;
She published three other novels from that point and all of them did pretty well. The guild, of course, organised a book signing event for each of the releases.
Tumblr media
Atlas Salamander Dragneel was born in the middle of the guild on a beautiful Thursday afternoon.
After months of following Polyussica's diet for a painless delivery, Lucy realized way too late that the diet worked way too well and she did not realize her water broke nor felt that the baby was coming;
Some would say such an eventful birth is an omen as to how the baby will be and they would be right because Atlas is nothing if not eventful;
For the first ten years of his life, if there was a catastrophic attack on Magnolia's flora, you could bet your house that he had something to do with it. The boy destroyed a mountain when he was barely 6!;
That is when Luxus start to get worried for his hairline;
Natsu is over the moon to have found a partner to accompany him on his bizarre adventures;
Natsu and Atlas are always sparring each other and they're keeping count. It is currently 124-2 for Natsu;
Lucy can't believe that someone who looks so much like her can be so different from her. Atlas cannot sit AT ALL and for the longest time, the parents had to team up with the city's authorities to give him a simplet haircut;
He's a very volatile person and he hates staying in the same place for a long time;
Him and Gideon are actually dangers to society;
Atlas is also very impulsive and also kinda have a saviour complex; He is always the one to come to help to another being, which is not bad but sometime he does it without thinking much about himself or the people who care about him;
He is very charismatic which is such a bad combo with his eclectic personality. He gets away with a lot such as the fact that he is a player;
Lucy and Natsu agree to let him leave on a two years long mission with Gildarts and Gideon when he turns 15;
Tumblr media
The princess of the family! You can get a real-life target on your back if you even mispronounce her name;
After the nightmare that Atlas was, Lucy was so happy to have such a calm baby. Natsu is just really happy because Iggy is a carbon copy of him;
Happy's running joke is to look at Iggy and say something along the lines of "Oh my god Natsu, your hair grew so much";
Iggy grew with an overbearing dad, a very protective mom and a brother who was way too much into her business, that being said the rebellion period was to be expected;
It didn't last too long (Natsu thank the skies every day), she hates being in trouble too much. She mostly sulks when she's upset now;
She is best friends and teammates with Kairo Redfox and Silo Fullbuster;
Because both boys are very prone to partake in activities that result in broken bones and skulls, she has been tasked by Juvia and Levy to chaperone them at all times;
She is very responsible and a person you can count on always;
Whenever her parents leave for a mission or book tour, they very specifically put her in charge of her older brother;

Levy McGarden: Hogwarts AU
Tumblr media
Levy McGarden is a Muggleborn witch that was born on the 19th of September 1972 and started attending Hogwarts on the 1st of September 1984, being sorted into Ravenclaw House.
She has a Hazelnut wand with a Unicorn Hair core.
Her Patronus is Non-Corporeal.
Her favorite subject is Ancient Runes and her least favorite subject is Defense Against the Dark Arts.
She was one of the Ravenclaw Prefects of her year.
Levy has a cheerful and upbeat personality, and as such she is, rather easily, able to get along quite well with her housemates. Her kind spirit is shown through her reluctance to get involved in the many duels the students at Hogwarts has together, as she is too nice to fight "just for fun." She is also a very forgiving person, as she reconciled with Gajeel Redfox for beating her and her best friends up before the start of the Porla incident, and later allowed him to become her partner for a class project (albeit Gajeel more or less declared himself her partner).
Levy is characterized by her love for reading, which is how she and the Gryffindor Lucy Heartfilia quickly became friends: through their mutual love of books. Levy has also been the only person to read Lucy's novel with her consent, showing their level of trust in each other. At times, however, Levy can be rather competitive. Levy is also one of the more mature students of her year, as she was the first to abandon the Triwizard Tournament in favor of unifying all of the schools, whereas some did not want to stop the tournament at all.

Levy McGarden: Hogwarts AU
Tumblr media
Levy McGarden is a Muggleborn witch that was born on the 19th of September 1979 and started attending Hogwarts on the 1st of September 1991, being sorted into Ravenclaw house.
She was almost one of the many Muggleborn orphans who were kidnapped by Death Eaters to be used as slaves but she managed to escape alongside her best friends Jet and Droy with the three eventually ending up at the Fairy Tail Orphanage where they eventually grew up.
She was quick to befriend Lucy when she arrived, with the two bonding and becoming close friends due to their love for books.
In her fourth year, she landed in the hospital wing with her two best friends after they were cursed by Gajeel Redfox but after he realized that he had been tricked, he went to the hospital wing himself to apologize in person.
She was eventually forced to go on the run with Jet and Droy for being Muggleborns with Gajeel coming along to help protect them.
She eventually participated in the Battle of Hogwarts which she survived even if it took seven years to reveal this due to the fact that she and a few others had been sent forward in time with a broken Time Turner.
She and Gajeel were horrified after they realized that she had been fighting while pregnant with the two becoming quite overprotective of their first-born Emma due to this.
She eventually started working for the Daily Prophet with her and Gajeel eventually getting married and having twins together around the time that Emma started at Hogwarts.
She has a Pear wand with a Unicorn Hair core.
Her Patronus is a Little Owl.
Her favorite subjects are Charms and Ancient Runes.
Her least favorite subjects are Defense Against the Dark Arts and Flying.

Fandoms & Ships
I am a true nerd, and as such, continously seek out new media and their fandoms, and become involved with them, while also cyclically coming back to the ones I already love. I am a romantic, and I love seeing love in general (all types of love, not just romantic!), so I am also a very big shipper!
I don't always have a set ship(s) for every fandom I find myself in, nor do I think it necessary to try and "prove" that mine are better than other ships. I like what I like, and I like seeing what others like as well. So I might have OTPs, but I also like engaging with content for all kinds of ships, even true rarepairs.
I also don't think it necessary for a fandom to have ships, so just because I have a listed ship that I like/love, doesn't mean I can't have neutral/objective thoughts and opinions about that particular piece of media.
That being said, here's a list of fandoms I come back to, or keep up with, and a list of ships I have a preference for. OTPs are bolded! Oh, and media (as in the series, books, shows, etc.) are rated according to my opinion!

You can also read it here
———————————————
Chapter 21
It was one of those rare days in the Fairy Tail guild when its members started showing up early in the morning.
This usually happened around or after the holidays, and it was always nice to have everyone together and in a good mood.
Following the post-holiday job rush, it seemed that a lot of Fairy Tail members decided to take the weekend off and laze around the guild.
It was too cold to do anything else.
Wendy, Erza, and the exceeds came back from their job the day before, along with Gray and Juvia, and Mira could see them all sitting at one end of the guild, chatting and enjoying their breakfast.
Well, Juvia was creeping under the opposite table watching Gray with hearts in her eyes.
Mira made a mental note to keep a close eye on those two as she polished the glassware. It was still too early to tell how it could go, nevertheless, the take-over mage couldn't help but dream, she was a romantic at heart.
Juvia was obviously and loudly in love with their resident ice mage, but Gray was a stubborn one, and hard to read about these things.
You never know with him.
Mira went back to polishing the glasses as she watched over the guild. The spirits were high as everyone lazed about, enjoying each other's company.
Or in Cana's case, a wine barrel.
Mira shook her head as she watched the card mage drink. How she managed to function with that much alcohol is beyond her, but it was impressive.
The sound of Jet and Droy encouraging Levy pulled Mira from Cana's end of the bar to one of the middle tables in the guild.
She could see the blunette flipping through various books with her fast-reading glasses, as her partners cheered her on.
It was a sweet scene from team Shadow Gear that put a smile on Mira's face, and as she looked around the room she saw that even the Thunder Legion was laughing and enjoying the winter morning at their table in the corner.
She also noticed that her sister was sitting with them, how interesting.
Overall, it looked like the start of a nice and peaceful day.
Which can only mean that trouble was coming soon. Peaceful days in Fairy Tail were short-lived and spread far out.
It was at the thought of trouble that Mira remembered that Lucy never checked in last night and a nervous niggling in her gut told her that something might be wrong.
The last time they spoke, it was so that she could help them cloak a regular key to look like Leo's. Lucy said she would call after they made the swap and were out of the museum.
That was over 12 hours ago, hell it was almost over 18 hours ago.
She should call them.
To make sure everything went according to plan.
She was sure that between Lucy's brain and Natsu's brawn, they would be just fine, but it was a little odd that the spirit mage didn't call to check-in.
Pulling the phone out of her apron, Mira dialed Lucy's number and waited for the blonde to answer.
The girl was an early riser, and Mira had no doubt she would be awake by now.
It took a few rings for her to answer, and Mira started talking as soon she heard the other end pick up. "You didn't call last night, so I thought to check in early, how did everything go? Did you manage to get the broken key piece?"
Out of everything she could've expected, Natsu's almost shaky voice coming from the other end of the line wasn't on the list.
"Things- They, they didn't go according to plan." He sounded dejected, stumbling over his words as he spoke and Mira clenched her phone tighter in her hand.
Something was definitely wrong.
"What do you mean by that? And where is Lucy, why are you answering her phone?" She almost growled through the line, catching the attention of some guild members around her as she questioned Natsu.
"Mira, please, it's been a long day, for both of us." There was an edge to his voice she'd never heard before as he spoke, and Mira didn't know what to make of it.
"I need you to open a portal for me, Lucy is unconscious and I have another woman who is possessed. We're out in the middle of a forest, and I don't have a way to get them both back to the Village, and even if I did how would I explain it?"
His infliction struck a cord within Mira and she let out a gasp at his words, and also his tone.
He sounded, broken, almost as he pleaded with her. And she had never heard him like this.
Not even when he showed up after the battle with Phantom Lord with a bloody Lucy in his arms.
Turning on her planning mode, Mira pulled the phone from her ear and looked out at the crowd of mages.
Most of them were glancing or outright staring at her, obviously having overheard her end of the conversation.
"We need a portal, Lucy's down and Natsu has a possessed mortal with him. There's no way to get them both back to the village."
There was a commotion at her words as everyone shouted out questions and she watched Erza, Gray, and Levy jump to their feet as Happy flew over to her, eyes filled with worry.
"Where are they? We need a location." Fried was the one who asked, and when Mira turned to look at him she was surprised to see the Thunder Legion looking concerned about the situation.
Lisanna looked back at her with worry over the two mages, and Mira could see Bickslow moving to comfort her.
But now was not the time to think about it.
"Tell me your exact location." She said through the phone, her mind racing and heart pounding as her adrenaline started to pick up.
The peaceful day in Fairy Tail has officially come to an end, and it wasn't even 10 in the morning.
Mira was trying not to think of what could've happened for Natsu to sound so lost and despairing.
Portal first, then she can bombard him with questions.
There were a few seconds of silence before he answered. "We're in the middle of the goddamn woods!" Natsu said through grit teeth, and she could hear the frustration in his voice.
Mira could tell he was close to panicking, it was weird coming from the fire drakon and it did nothing to calm down her already spinning thoughts.
He wasn't one to get over-emotional or panicky on or off the battlefield.
Unless that emotion was anger.
And this was not anger.
"After we took the key from the museum it led us into the forest East of Sakuramori. We traveled going due South-West for hours before coming to this clearing.
There's a waterfall, that's all I can give ya."
That was a decent amount of information considering how out of it he sounded and that they were in a forest.
There couldn't be many waterfalls in the area.
"Okay, okay, we can work with that." Mira told him as she once again lowered the phone.
"We need a map of Fiore, they're in a forest East of Sakuramori Village. Some kind of clearing with a waterfall. He said they were walking South West for hours before coming upon it."
She relayed the information to the room and watched as everyone scrambled for a map and went to work.
Mira looked back at Happy, who was sitting on the bar looking at her with big, teary eyes. "I'll keep him talking until we get the portal to them. Don't worry, they'll be fine."
She told him, trying to console the exceed before deciding to move away from the crowd and into the kitchen.
With Natsu like this, she felt a need for privacy.
"We're working on a portal. Now tell me what happened, is Lucy okay?" Mira asked worriedly, needing to know how bad it was.
There was silence coming from the other end, and she had to check if they were still on the call.
"She- she's fine, for now. I think." Natsu's voice spoke through the speaker, and Mira could hear his breath getting heavier with every word.
"I don't know, Mira. Things, they got out of hand, and it all happened so fast, I'm not even sure what happened, and then she was dying." The sentence was cut off by a choking sound, and now Mira was really worried.
Because Natsu was crying.
The last time she remembers seeing him cry was in the first few weeks after he arrived in Fairy Tail.
And he said that Lucy was dying.
It all had Mira's head spinning in circles as she tried to process the information.
What the hell happened to them?
She heard Natsu's breath getting more and more shallow as he cried, and she reminded herself that she was here for him.
Not to freak out, but to try and keep him calm.
"Hey, hey, Natsu. Listen to me." Mira used her calmest tone as she spoke, akin to the way you would approach a scared and wounded animal. "You said she's fine, right?"
His breath started slowing down as he concentrated on answering her words. "She's alive, she's okay." Natsu said the words like they were a prayer, and Mira's heart clenched as she realized how much this rocked the fire drakon.
"She used up so much of her magic, and it felt like she was fading. I- I didn't know what to do." He continued talking, his voice coming out frazzled and she tried thinking of the best way to distract him.
"It's okay, just keep taking deep breaths, yeah? You're both okay, and the portal's coming, I'm gonna stay on the line with you until we can conjure it.
Talk to me, I won't ask what happened, tell me about what you did yesterday before going back to the museum." She settled on that, retelling something simple to keep his mind off what was happening.
Hopefully, the others won't take too long with the portal.
"We stopped for lunch." He said after a few moments and Mira could tell he was trying to recall their day.
"After we left the museum in the morning, we stopped somewhere to eat, and then I asked if she wanted to look around for a magic shop.
You know how Luce wants to check them all out for keys, so I thought we could see if there was one in Sakuramori." Natsu's words came out less somber as he talked about Lucy and in any other situation Mira would find it adorable.
Now it just made her sad.
"Oh, that's very sweet of you, did you end up finding a shop? The village is small." She hoped he wouldn't catch her glum tone as she tried to stay bubbly for his sake.
"We did, there weren't any keys in it though. She did end up finding some cool shit, she always does." Natsu's words were softer towards the end of the sentence, and Mira's heart might've burst for the fire drakon at that moment.
She was sure that the odd pair had feelings for each other from day one, even if they weren't ready to admit those feelings to anyone else.
Even themselves.
But she was somehow shocked to witness just how deep those feelings were, and what the consequences of them losing each other could be like.
"That's our Lucy." And there was no hiding the gloominess in her voice this time.
Thankfully, Lisanna appeared at the door at that moment. "The portal is coming their way in 15." She said softly as she moved back into the guild hall.
Mira cleared her throat and moved to follow her sister out of the kitchen.
"There should be a door appearing somewhere around you in the next 15 seconds." She told him as she moved her eyes to the guild doors in anticipation.
Everyone was sitting and waiting for them to arrive.
There was no answer from the fire drakon.
He ended the call without a word and then the door was being kicked in, and Natsu was walking through the threshold with Lucy in his arms.
"Natsu!" Mira exclaimed at his entrance, her heart pumping as she took in his wild eyes, heavy breath, and the way his hands were clutching the unconscious blond.
Several guild members joined in with her shout as they got to their feet.
Natsu chose to ignore all of them and continue walking through the guild, a predatory glare in his eyes. "There's a possessed, unconscious woman out here! And we need Porlyusica!"
He barked out, not looking at any of them as he frantically made his way through the sudden crowd surrounding him.
Mira saw Bickslow move out the door and into the snowy clearing to retrieve the possessed woman without a word.
And then Happy was at her side again and they watched together as everyone continued bombarding Natsu with questions.
Standing almost surrounded in the middle of the guild with Lucy clutched in his arms, he looked like a caged animal about to strike.
"We need Porlyusica! Or Wendy, where is Wendy!" Natsu's growled out, and Mira could tell his fuse was short, if it was there at all.
She had a feeling that the only reason he wasn't fighting his way through the crowd was because of the blonde in his arms.
The guild members quieted down with his outburst, and a few took a step back.
As if finally noticing his mood.
"Here, I'm here." Wendy's melodic voice called out and the young healer made her way to the front. "We need to lay her down. The infirmary is the best place, come on."
The bluenette pointed to the second floor as she moved towards the stairs.
The crowd parted for them without a word as they made their way through and it felt like the guild was holding their breath as they watched the trio climb up the stairs.
Bickslow had made his way back with the tied-up unconscious woman and moved to set her at one of the benches.
"One of Zeref's demons is possessing the woman, Fran-something." Natsu called out from over his shoulder as he walked into the infirmary room, shutting the door behind him and sending the guild into an almost instant panic as he did.
"Did he just say one of Zeref's demons?" Jet asked in a worried tone and then everyone was back to shouting questions.
Mira could see Erza moving towards the stairs, with Gray hot on her heel and she moved fast, summoning her Satan Soul before she could even think.
She stopped at the top of the stairs, arms crossed as she looked down at Erza.
"Let Wendy work in peace, you know she concentrates better with less of a crowd." Mira implored, hoping the reequip mage would back down for the moment.
She had a feeling that Natsu would not respond well to her inquisitive presence at the moment.
Erza stared back at her for several heartbeats, her magic was pooling slowly as she debated on whether to fall back and wait or try and fight Mira.
Thankfully the redhead relented with a single nod and walked back to her table with Gray.
Letting go of her magic, Mira let out a slight sigh before realizing the guild hall was quieter than before.
Looking around she noticed that their little display stopped the ruckus amongst the mages and took that moment to take charge.
"Okay everyone, it seems like we have a situation on our hands. Now Fried, Levy you two can search through the library and see which demon this is." She pointed at the mages as she assigned the task.
They were the ones to help organize it, so it was best to leave the task to them, and thankfully there were no complaints from the duo and they rushed to the library in search.
"Do you know what happened, Mira? Is Lucy okay?" Gray asked and Cana chipped in from next to him, her barrel currently abandoned by the bar. "Yeah, should we call the cranky witch? Natsu seemed pretty dead set that we do."
The take-over mage sighed as she walked down the stairs.
"I don't know the details. He told me she used up a lot of her magic and fainted out of nowhere, that it looked like she was dying and then he told me she was okay, for now." Mira told them, it wasn't much, but the details were hardly necessary when their friends were in trouble.
"So you don't know anything?" Cana said bluntly and Mira rolled her eyes.
"I was hardly going to interrogate him when I found out Lucy was unconscious. Getting them home was the first priority. We'll find out what happened. And I think we should wait till Wendy's done before we decide to bother Porlyusica."
With the master out of town, Mira didn't want to get on the healers' bad side.
"Okay, we'll wait then. But what do we do about her?" Gray sighed as he moved to poke the unconscious brunette tied and cuffed on one of the benches.
"We wait to see which demon we're dealing with, and how to help free the poor woman." Mira answered as she walked to inspect the woman.
Trying to see if she would get a read off the demon.
"Franmalth!" Levy's voice yelled as she ran into the room, Fried following a few steps behind her with a book in his hands.
"I'm guessing that's the demon?" Mira asked as Levy stopped in front of her, her hands on her knees as she panted. "Yes."
"Okay, so how do we get rid of it?" Laxus joined the conversation as he moved next to Fried and tried to read the pages over his shoulder, before frowning when he realized it was in a different language.
"We can't kill it while it's possessing the woman, though we can banish it from her. It will send him back to his physical form. But we don't know where that is, so we'd essentially just be letting him go." The green-haired man explained. "Though that is our best option, as we do not want to keep harming an innocent."
No one in the guild argued with the logic, keeping the mortal woman alive and safe was their first priority.
"How do we banish him then?" Gray cut in and all eyes turned back to Fried and Levy.
"It's a simple spell, it shouldn't take longer than a minute. It will leave the person possessed incapacitated anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Depending on how long she has been under his control." Levy explained as Fried moved to do the spell.
"We can keep her in one of the spare rooms until she wakes up, and then have someone wipe her memory." Mira said as they all watched the rune mage perform the banishment spell.
"This is the second creation of the dark mage that we've encountered in the past months." Erza said in a grave tone as Fried finished the spell and Bikcslow moved to take the woman up the stairs.
"Third, if you count that job Natsu and Lucy took. They transported one of the books of Zeref." Levy chimed in, her tone sullen as she sat down at a table.
"I know, something is stirring up. The Master got summoned late last night for an emergency meeting." Mira sighed as she went to rub her temple.
"There is some troubling gossip going around about the dark guilds, that's why they're meeting so soon after their monthly conclave." Mira answered back.
It was nothing good, that much was obvious.
The dark guilds usually worked alone, staying out of each other's business.
Now there were rumors of an alliance forming between some of the most powerful guilds.
Before Mira could share her worries with the guild the door of the infirmary opened and Wendy was descending the stairs.
The young healer looked doleful as she walked towards them, and Mira's heart started frantically beating in her chest from the suspense.
"How is she?" Mira asked as soon as the sky drakon was near enough.
There was a sigh from the young healer as she looked down at the floor. "We need to call for Porlyusica. She has more healing experience than I do, I'm out of my depth here."
That was not what Mira wanted to hear.
There had been a foolishly hopeful part of her that thought that maybe it wasn't as grave as it seemed.
* ********* ********** ********** ********* *
Wendy walked out of the infirmary room feeling absolutely useless.
All the years studying and practicing her magic, only for her to be rendered worthless in the face of something unknown.
But this was unlike anything the sky drakon had encountered before.
There are texts of bonds and links between mages, a union raid being the most well-known.
But nothing like this.
She has read nothing to indicate such a thing was even a possibility.
To share magic with another person, to make such an elaborate and intricate connection...
Helping replenish someone's magic with your own in such a way, was something that she never would have thought of.
So what made Natsu think it could be done?
Wendy walked down the stairs as she pondered the questions in her mind. Hopefully, Porlyusica will have answers.
"How is she?" Mira asked as Wendy stopped a few steps from her and the blunette shifted her gaze to watch her shoes as she debated on how to answer.
Saying Lucy was going to be okay didn't sit right with her. While her condition was stable, and her magic was growing steadily. There were too many unknown factors.
"We need to call for Porlyusica. She has more healing experience than I do, I'm out of my depth here." Wendy settled for the truth because she was out of her depth.
The mood in the guild turned somber at her declaration, and Mira moved without a word, excusing herself to go and contact the pink-haired witch.
It left Wendy to her thoughts and the young healer couldn't get Natsu's wide-eyed panicked look out of her mind.
She could count on one hand the amount of times she'd seen him worried or scared, but never to this degree.
This seemed to have shaken him to his core.
Seeing Natsu in such a state only rattled her even more. In Wendy's eyes, the fire drakon was, unmovable, unshakable.
A force to be reckoned with.
But the way he couldn't seem to stray too far from the blonde. His voice and the look in his eyes as he told her a little part of what happened to them.
This was a side of Natsu that was unknown to the young drakon.
"Is it that bad?" It was Happy that asked, effectively bringing Wendy back to the present and her heart clenched as she looked at the exceed.
He was looking at her with wide eyes full of tears. "I- I'm not sure myself. Lucy looks fine, but..." Wendy trailed off, not knowing if she should tell them what she knew.
It wasn't the complete story, and the sky drakon knew that Erza would have questions she couldn't answer.
"What did he tell you? What happened to them?" The redhead asked as if she could sense her thoughts.
"He told me that she used her magic to try and fix Leo's broken key, and almost died doing it. I don't know anything else." Wendy admitted what she knew and hoped it would be enough for now.
She decided to leave out the bridge that was now between the two mages until she could tell them exactly what it was.
"I contacted Porlyusica, she's on her way." Mira said as she appeared from behind the bar.
"Perfect, we have enough time for Natsu to answer some questions before the healer gets here." Erza said as she stood from her seat.
Wendy jumped without thinking and was in front of the reequip mage before she could take a step and held her arms in front of her.
"No, he said he won't talk until Porlyusica gets here. He's also exhausted as well, give him some time to rest."
The sky drakon pleaded with the redhead.
Natsu was in no shape for an interrogation right now. He could barely concentrate enough to answer her questions and Wendy knew it wasn't a good idea for anyone to go up there.
Not until Porlyuisca has given Lucy a clean bill of health.
Erza's sharp gaze was staring down at Wendy, but the younger girl held her ground.
She was the expert here, and her expert opinion is that they both need rest. But the fire drakon is too stubborn for his own good.
"Okay, we'll wait for the witch." Erza gave in with a sigh and sat back down. "How did it even come to this?" The redhead wondered what they were all thinking out loud.
"Mira, you were in contact with them." Gray piped in and all eyes turned to the take-over mage.
"All I know is that their job turned out to be fake, and while they were in the museum they found a broken spirit key. Lucy decided that taking the object would be the best choice, as it still had a magic signature. So they asked for my help to cloak a regular key into looking like Leo."
Mira explained what she knew as she fidgeted with her hands. "That was the last I heard of them. They were supposed to take the broken piece and contact me! I don't know what happened after that."
Mira's story didn't really give them any new information, they were out in those woods for who knows how long. A lot seemed to have happened to them in one night.
There was a lull in the guild as everyone waited for the pink-haired healer to arrive. Most of the guild was on edge as if waiting for the other shoe to drop.
It was a tense few minutes before the door of the guild opened once more and the old healer appeared in a flurry of robes with her overflowing bag of herbs and medicines in hand.
"What have you miscreants done this time?" Porlyusica asked as she moved towards Mira.
"I am sorry for bothering you, but Wendy said that you would be better suited to help in this situation." The take-over mage answered and the older healer turned her stern gaze to Wendy.
"Show me the way and tell me what you know child." Her tone was always softer with her than the others and Wendy never knew why the usually cranky healer took a liking to her.
"They're in the infirmary, Lucy seems to have drained her magic and, there is something I need you to see." Wendy talked, trying to keep her voice low, even as she led the older woman up the stairs.
Mira's footsteps followed behind them.
* ********* ********** ********** ********* *
Erza watched as Wendy and Mira led Porlyusica to the second floor of the guild, trying to keep herself from following behind them.
Knowing the old healer, it was a miracle she didn't kick everyone out of the infirmary room, and the redhead did not want to test her patience.
Watching them disappear into the room and close the door left Erza feeling on edge.
The Master was out, and they had a guild mate down and another one who refused to answer questions, which left the remaining guild members feeling anxious and uncertain.
When Mira told them Lucy was injured, Erza didn't know what to think.
The redhead has been training Lucy since they met, and Erza is proud to say that Lucy's fighting and magic have progressed wonderfully under her coaching.
She was a natural and her magic energy has grown a lot in such a short time.
They have also grown close as friends, even forming a kind of team together with Natsu and Gray, something that would have sounded impossible, if not laughable, just half a year ago.
Erza liked Lucy.
She was a smart, strong young woman with a good sense of justice and a big heart, and Erza was glad to have her join their guild.
When she found out the news that Natsu had brought a mage to the guild, she didn't believe it.
Having been out on a job and not being there to witness their interactions, Erza concluded that everyone was just hyperbolizing the situation.
But then she found out that Natsu had taken a job with the new mage and for a moment Erza thought that maybe she entered a parallel universe.
Natsu was not the type of person to team up with someone.
He has gone on missions with people under Masters orders when it's a serious situation, but when it comes to regular jobs, Happy is the only person who went with him.
Erza knows that ever since coming to the guild it's been a struggle for the fire drakon. His early years were spent in anger, and trying to disobey and lash out in any way he could.
She could understand his anger, to a point.
Never having parents herself Erza couldn't know the pain of knowing your mother or father before they abandoned you.
Waking up one morning to find the only parent you've ever known gone without a trace would leave a mark on anyone, let alone a 7-year-old.
They all tried their best with him, refusing to give up on the young mage.
It was easy for any of them to remember what it was like when they first came to the guild. Everyone in Fairy Tail had their story, and that's what made them who they are.
Their guild might be known throughout Fiore's magical community as the one that causes the most trouble and desaturation of property. Fairy Tail was a well-known headache to the Magic Council, but they were also known as more of a family than an organization.
That was the beauty of Fairy Tail.
Erza took it upon herself to teach the poor drakon to read and write properly, and it turned out to be more of a challenge than she anticipated, as he turned out to be more fluent in an ancient Dragon language than English.
That's where Fried and Levy stepped in to help her, and with their help, everyone in the guild got involved in helping the fire drakon get accustomed to living with them.
And after a few attempts at running away, it was ultimately Happy's presence and Wendy showing up at Fairy Tail that made the fire drakon begrudgingly decide to permanently stay with the guild.
That was a long time ago, and while they all knew he would put his life on the line for Fairy Tail, none could claim to be particularly close to the fire mage.
Wendy was the closest of them all, and Erza knew it was because they both shared the same pain.
So seeing the way he interacted with this new mage was bemusing, to say the least.
Lucy Heartfilia had somehow, single-handedly, and without even trying made their wayward drakon a more permanent fixture in the guild.
And it was always amusing watching them banter.
During these six months Erza, and everyone in Fairy Tail, got a chance to see a different Natsu.
One that isn't running from his past and constantly seeking his father. A side of him that was always there, but subdued around them.
Like a shell or armor that he built around himself.
An armor that seems to chip away every day he spends with Lucy.
It was why Erza was so desperate to get answers. She knew that Natsu would do anything to protect Lucy, even from herself.
She needed to know everything that happened in that clearing, and whether she needed to kick Natsu's ass for it.
Erza was reduced to pacing in a straight line as they all waited for Porlyusica, or Mira and Wendy to come downstairs.
She could feel Gray's eyes on her as she walked back and forth, and she shot him a look. "What?"
"Do you think she's gonna be okay? I mean Wendy looked spooked, even when the old witch got here." He asked her and Erza stopped pacing and stared back at him.
Wendy did look spooked.
The healer said Lucy used up almost all of her magic, but she also said that she was stable.
How was that possible?
Being drained of magic is a dangerous thing, and there was hardly anything a healer could do in those situations. There have been mages that died of magic exhaustion.
And Erza could tell that the young healer wasn't telling them everything she knew, but that was likely because she didn't understand.
She did say she was out of her depth.
"I don't know. We have to wait and see." Erza told him as she started pacing again.
Gray sighed at her words and pushed his hair out of his eyes. "I know. I hate waiting." And in a blink, his shirt was gone.
Erza's eye twitched at his vexing habit and she moved her hand so she could slap the back of his head "Put your shirt back on!"
As Gray scrambled for his shirt, Erza looked up at the door of the infirmary room, as if glaring at it would make them finish faster.
She didn't appreciate having to wait for answers any more than Gray, but they needed to be patient.
It was a few minutes before the door opened and Porlyusica stepped out looking annoyed and grumbling under her breath.
Well, that was a good sign.
If the old healer was back to her cranky ways, Lucy should be fine.
Moving without a word, Erza climbed the stairs two at a time, with Gray following behind.
They passed Porlyusica with a polite nod in the hall and Erza walked with a brisk pace towards the open infirmary room door.
Stepping through the threshold, she saw Mira and Wendy standing next to each other, staring at the bed where Lucy was sleeping.
Natsu was sitting in one of the chairs next to her bed, his back facing the door but Erza could see their hands were entwined.
Clearing her throat, the reequip mage brought everyone's attention to her and Gray by the door.
She saw the way Natsu tensed at their arrival, his face getting pale as they locked eyes.
There was silence in the room as they all looked at each other, and before Erza could get a word in, Mira decided to speak.
"Guys, why don't we let Natsu rest. It's been a lot for him too. I'll tell you what I know, and he can tell us the rest tomorrow." Mira, ever the mediator, said with one of her gentle tones as she took a step forward.
Erza was getting tired of being asked to wait, she wanted answers. "He needs to tell us what happened, Mira!" The redhead argued back, she didn't want to fight with the take-over mage, but she was being difficult.
"Yeah, he can't just barge in with Lucy unconscious in his arms and a woman possessed by a goddamned demon without any explanation!" Gray's voice came from beside her as the ice mage backed her up.
And Erza was honestly surprised at Natsu's lack of reaction to the mage's words.
He would usually be jumping on his feet and threatening to melt him into a puddle, or something equally creative.
But he just kept staring at them, an almost faraway look in his eyes.
There was a tense moment where nothing was said, and Erza was getting impatient. This situation was out of hand, and they knew nothing of what happened to them.
"Natsu! I was so worried when Mira said that you were in trouble! How is Lucy?" Happy broke the tense moment as he burst into the room and into Natsu's arms.
The question threw Erza into a loop, and her gut clenched as she realized she didn't even ask about the blonde and went straight into action.
What a terrible friend and guildmate she was.
Gray tensed by her side at Happy's question and Erza knew he was feeling the same.
"The cranky witch said Luce is just fine, she needs to sleep it off, sorry for worrying you buddy, but it's all okay now." Natsu finally spoke, consoling the blue exceed as he cried in his arms.
"I was scared when Mira said Lucy was hurt, and you looked freaked out and scary when you came back!" Happy's tears had stopped falling, but his words came out quickly and jumbled as he spoke.
Erza, while feeling sympathetic for the exceed, was at her last straw.
"And what exactly happened for her to end up in such a state? How are you left without a scratch?" Her voice came out sharper than she intended, and the way Natsu's face drained of all colour made her immediately regret her choice of words.
"Erza! That's enough." Mira scolded her, but Erza was not backing down.
She shouldn't have said that.
But they still need answers.
"I will not argue with you Mira, this is quite an alarming situation and we have no idea what happened!" She shot back at the take-over mage, before turning her glare to the fire drakon.
"Natsu, don't make me use force." Her threat was purely for show, as he rarely refused to talk after such a suggestion, and she could see that this time was no different.
His posture slouched as he sighed, accepting defeat.
"He will tell us, but he also needs rest!" Wendy's voice was angry and firm as she made her declaration, and Erza turned to look at the healer in surprise.
She was blushing from the sudden attention, but her body language didn't speak of backing down.
Clenching her fists, the young blunette stared her and Gray down with determination as she spoke, and Erza couldn't help but feel proud of the girl.
"They've both been through a lot, and like Mira said, we can fill you in on what we know. But Lucy isn't the only one that needs sleep. And a shower."
Her tone left no room for negotiation and Erza sighed as she went to pinch her brow, hoping to relieve her growing headache before finally taking a second to really look at Natsu.
His face was pale, the bags under his eyes stood out on his skin, and the way he looked like he was barely holding himself together made Erza realize how exhausted he was.
"Fine, rest. We'll talk in the morning." She declared, hoping her voice came out gentler this time around.
Maybe she was being a little too hard on him, whatever happened to them in that clearing seems to have taken a toll on Natsu.
Not to mention he hasn't slept in over 24 hours.
Mira moved towards her with a grateful smile, and they both grabbed Gray and pulled him out of the room as he started protesting.
"What do you mean tomorrow? You're just gonna let him off the hook!" The Ice mage sounded outraged at the turn of events, but before Erza could react, Mira moved to punch him.
"Shut up, he's not off the hook, he needs rest! Did you not see him in there? Just be patient will you." The take-over mage scolded him as if he were a child and Erza's lip twitched in a smile at the scene.
"She's right, Natsu will tell us everything tomorrow. For now, we know that Lucy is okay and they both need to rest."

CHAPTER V A WOMAN UNLIKE ANY OTHER
Gray Fullbuster, Juvia Lockser, Gajeel Redfox Alternative Historical Universe Genre: Old World Vibes, Period Romance All Chapters: Click here | Taglist
Writer’s Corner: I AM RESURRECTED!
Masterlist
Juvia walked around the room, intentionally keeping herself at a good distance from the gentleman in the middle of it, intent on engaging in no conversation with him. In preference, she busied herself quietly reading titles as she passed them. She counted those she recognized, which was, by her account, not as many as she would have liked. Others were written in script foreign to her. Hence, Juvia found no benefit in picking up one and pretending to read it.
Gray kept repeating the one line he couldn’t seem to move past. Ever since Juvia entered the room, he could not keep his mind on the passage he was earnestly reading. All the while, throwing surreptitious glances at her moving figure. Juvia did the same, stealing curious glances at him.
All at once, it dawned on the lady how she never has paid the gentleman much attention. All she could afford him was stubborn inconsequence. Juvia looked but never did see. Believing his stern eyes were trained on his book, Juvia took the opportunity to really consider Mr. Fullbuster. She took inventory of his features: reserved eyes, tall nose, pronounced jawline – all seemed to make Mr. Fullbuster a figure of distinction. The noble air about him said so.
“You have a rare collection, do you not, Mr. Fullbuster?” She did not even allow him to answer when she continued, “my father would have collapsed at the sight of them.”
“Is he not with you?”
“No.” Finding no more interest in her walking about the room, Juvia turned to finally address the gentleman directly. “His presence is much more required in the field,” offered she. “My apologies.”
“None required.”
They fell in silence once again, that which seemed to have stretched on for too long but one that allowed Juvia a moment to reconsider the order of things. The gentleman had made his intention to ask her hand in marriage yet she refused on account of his misguided view of it. To Juvia’s mind, there was only one person deserving of much consequence – Eliana Lockser. Her sister’s predicament took precedence over all thoughts. Of what it would do to her sister’s renown once the news traveled over all of Magnolia. The repercussions would be immeasurable. Besides, had not the eldest Lockser taken a liking towards Mr. Fullbuster? She wondered, then, what it would take to persuade the gentleman to reconsider his feelings toward marrying Eliana instead. His unexpected words interrupted her thoughts but caught only the tail-end of his inquiry.
“Pardon?”
“Are you fond of books, Miss Juvia?”
“Not as much as my father.” Juvia quickly reconsidered her answer and belatedly realized it was not conveying her truth. “Actually, not at all.” A soft, almost inaudible, chuckle tumbled out her lips. “I would rather the outdoors. Be entertained by nature. They are more engaging than simply staring at letterings on parchment.” Therefore, she felt the need to correct herself much to her own surprise.
“I see.”
There was a contemplative silence again until Gray voiced a contention.
“But books can take you places. It may even allow you to see and experience another person’s life.”
“I’d rather live it than read of it.”
There was an archness in the manner she refuted. An impertinence in the curve of her smile. A teasing gleam in her round blue eyes that Gray found a bit so amusing that all the response he could muster was a gentle smile. There was a single thought that crossed the gentleman’s mind.
Miss Juvia was not like any other.
They reached an impasse and Juvia belatedly noticed how close she had gotten to him. She pulled herself away much too suddenly, bewildered by the sudden rush of self-awareness. She reproached herself for being callous. She must now be weary as she might find herself a bit too close the next time. Then, she berated her own for even entertaining the idea that there was another time. With caution, she kept him, or rather herself, at bay; and chose to change the subject. Juvia started to allude to her suggestion, that he redirect his affections to Miss Lockser, when something entirely else caught her attention.
“What are you reading?” asked she.
“I have been studying the ways of hunting as I have been told it is one of the many activities you find enjoyable.”
The illustration on the page interested Juvia much more than his response. She failed to notice how strange it was for Mr. Fullbuster to know about her preferences and why would he exert himself to know them.
“And you find a crossbow to be the best instrument for it?” Crossbows were an obsolete, and therefore rare, tool for hunting. “Since they discontinued production half a decade ago. Interesting.” She mused to herself.
“I have wanted to build one of my own and so, I’ve been studying–”
“–Have you any death wish?” By now Juvia had placed a hand on the back of the chair and leaned into the book that he was reading. Her utter shock at his foolish ambition had taken precedence above others, even her sister’s concern and all the more, her earlier resolution to stand as far away from him as was recommended.
“If you as much as commit any slightest error, this tool may break and only the good heavens can tell your future.”
Within this proximity, Gray sensed a faint floral scent from her, a detail that he mentally jotted down in his little journal. The task occupied him so that he missed the question imposed upon him by the lady.
“Are you listening, Mr. Fullbuster?” Her frown confirmed her displeasure and Gray had to apologize for his ill manner.
“How then do you propose I move forward?”
A sense of mischief pulled the corners of Juvia’s mouth. It made her rise behind the unknowing gentleman and stand in an exultant posture, with her palm flattened on the curve of her waist. It was the first time that Gray ever saw a Magnolian woman do so.
“This house is a century old, Mr. Fullbuster. I am certain it holds many a treasure long forgotten by time.”
For the short while that their paths crossed, this was the first that Gray was fully captivated by her blue eyes. Not only by its beauty but by the fire that was flamed to life, burning anew on her ocean orbs. For once, there was neither hostility nor dismissiveness they permanently held. There was, in its stead, one which his own mother’s beautiful eyes often lacked when there was a speak of adventure. Yet, no matter how much they intrigued him, it was out of Gray’s nature to seek even the slightest idea of danger.
“Miss Juvia, I do not believe that would be–“ Gray started so certain of himself. So confident in his judgment. Yet, before he could finish his sentence, he found the subject of his concern already awaiting him at the door, one foot outside of the frame, “–safe.”
“Come on, now, Mr. Fullbuster. Daylight is wasting.”
Thereafter, they found themselves standing in the large expanse of the mansion’s garden. To the left of which was an elaborate labyrinth that courted Juvia’s curiosity. She had not thought of exploring it much, as the task at hand required primacy. But she did pay it to mind, stemming from irritation, the fact that Gray had invited a staff of over ten to oversee their pursuit.
“Do you often require yourself with such a number of help, Mr. Fullbuster?”
To Juvia’s mind, an activity such as this required the presence of no more than two persons. She was not too fond of having that many eyes observing.
“I can send them away if that is more to your liking, Miss Juvia.”
One would have found it endearing, that a gentleman would consider a lady’s comfort over his own. To Juvia, however, it was irresponsible for Mr. Fullbuster to pass onto her a burden she, by no means, had any say. For what right did she have to dismiss Mr. Fullbuster’s employees whose presence was due to contractual obligation?
“I was merely making a conversation. Please do not mistake it as my being uncomfortable.”
She made an effort to keep the irritation out of her voice; for it was no place to lose one’s temper. She could already hear Mrs. Lockser’s ringing voice: Losing one’s temper is unbecoming of a proper lady.
Rather, she focused on beginning the experiment – a wiser choice than being irked by things so nonsensical. Juvia expelled a breath to regain some of her composure. At the sight of the decade-old crossbow, which Lord Silver Fullbuster assured them was of safe use, Juvia regained her sense; only for it to quickly dissipate with the gentleman’s lack of urgency. She found her patience was tested when, instead of aiming the tool toward a target, Mr. Fullbuster set it on the ground in favor of the book he brought with him.
Juvia wanted to relieve him of the hunting tool as it was meant to be used rather than be left lying uselessly on the ground. As the now impatient lady was about to do so, Gray picked it up again and studied the same as his eyes bounced between his book and the crossbow.
“I was often told, experience is the best teacher, Mr. Fullbuster.”
“I am only being cautious, Miss Juvia. This is not a tool we can simply toy with as–” his explanation was cut short as Gray felt the weight of the crossbow leaves his hand. “Miss Juvia!” cried he to no avail.
Juvia settled the stirrup on the flat of the ground and pulled the string with all her might until it latched on the catch with a securing click. She opened her palm towards the troubled Mr. Fullbuster, to receive the quarrel from him, whilst his words of caution were received with adamancy. The gentleman was left with no other choice but to surrender what she asked for.
Juvia expertly laid the shaft on its place, aimed its tip at the sky, and in a breath or two, pronounced, “Fire!” She pulled the trigger and then watched the tossed apple slump down the grassy ground; the tip of the quarrel stuck at dead center, as pronounced by the help.
Juvia exclaimed in triumph. She then turned to the gentleman whose widened eyes were struck in awe.
“I have to say, Mr. Fullbuster. I find it a surprise that a gentleman such as yourself would even consider holding a hunting tool, much more practicing it.”
“Since Miss Juvia is fond of hunting, I figured I ought to prepare myself if I wish to come and explore the woods with you one of these days.”
The confession had taken Juvia by surprise. She searched his dark eyes for humor or any telling that might suggest he was only trying to impress her without sincerity. Yet, that was all there was to it – Gray’s sincerity. Finally realizing the insinuation of his confession – that Mr. Fullbuster paid consequence to her interests – and without knowing it, his words stirred her stomach funny.
She recovered hastily, masking her surprise with a challenge. “Then, Mr. Fullbuster,” Juvia shoved the crossbow against his chest as gently as her whimsy allowed. “If you may, please indulge me with your crossbow prowess.”
It was in the way her eyes challenged him that a rush of want gripped his being. An urge to impress the lady despite his insufficient knowledge of operating a crossbow. As he struggled through the simple act of drawing the string and locking it in place, his sudden want gradually dispersed.
“Are you in need of some assistance?”
“No!” cried he, rather too rudely for his own taste. When he gathered himself and recovered from his ungenteel outburst, he apologized at once. “Your assistance is very much appreciated, Miss Juvia.”
Once Gray secured the drawstring, he continued, “I can manage even this simple tool.”
Finding it hilarious to toy with mortal feelings, as fate always does, the heavens withheld its concurrence with the earnest gentleman, with the drawstring snapping back to its original state.
Juvia had to fold her lips, restraining the giggles about to erupt. When she was sure she kept her laughs locked down, she ambled towards the struggling gentleman. Without warning, she placed her hand beneath his and the other around his shoulder. Juvia aided Gray in guiding the tip of the bow toward the sky, oblivious of the sudden intimacy between them. But Gray was made very much aware of the thin air separating them as her warm breath fanned directly at his exposed skin. There was a ringing in his ear when the lady spoke into his ear at a decibel above a whisper. Her voice was so tamed and so darling that his mind failed to comprehend the words they formed. As if that was not enough, Juvia moved even closer, her chest now pressed against the back of Gray’s shoulders. All the cells in his body concentrated on one sensation – panic at the inappropriate closeness between them. Gray unceremoniously flung the hunting tool on the ground; the arrow separated from the crossbow upon impact.
Mr. Fullbuster could not run away from the lady any faster.
“Have you not any concept of propriety between a man and a woman?”
The subject of his berating paid him no heed. His words fell on deaf ears whilst the lady picked the tools off the ground.
“How can I assist you properly when you are that far away?”
Keeping his composure was never an endeavor to Gray. Not once in his life did he had to feel out-governed by his own emotions. Yet, here he was, exerting himself from recovering from his shock. One that helped ease his bearing was to remind himself that Miss Juvia was a woman unlike any other. Her unintentional dismissal or utter disregard of societal norms was to her second nature. Cautiously, he approached the woman who offered him back the dropped device, still convinced that this unsanctioned civility between them was indecorous. This time, however, Miss Juvia kept her distance since, as she composed, he was very much afraid of her.
“I am not,” defended Gray. “I am not afraid of you.”
For some reason, be it societal expectations or basic instinct as pride, the need to recover from his earlier embarrassment was Gray’s utmost priority. Therefore, he mustered all focus to send an arrow into the sky and hit his target.
“Fire!” barked Gray as he pulled on the string with all his might, only for his arrow to fall short.
No one in that household dared to laugh. After an assurance from his teacher that the arrow will not grow feet to climb back up to his crossbow, Gray marched to pick it up. Despite the heat that took over his whole body, Gray reloaded the arrow into his crossbow, now desperate, more than ever, to pin the sweet apple on the ground.
He made a second command and the arrow did fly into the sky and went straight to the group of attendants that gathered in one corner. They dispersed immediately after a collective cry of surprise.
It was the second time Juvia had to suppress a laugh. At this point, she had to turn away to afford herself room for a chuckle. Juvia was not the only one having a splendid time. Up at the balcony, overlooking the green expanse, was Lord Silver Fullbuster joined by little Ur, overseeing the affair.
“I was not aware that Mrs. Lockser could go on and on about various kinds of ribbons.”
Lord Silver tore his eyes away from the interesting bout and addressed his wife.
“I should have been warned,” lamented she when their eyes met.
“Mrs. Lockser is an entertaining guest.”
Lady Mika distractedly agreed in silence for her attention was much more required at the alarming scene unfolding on her lawn.
“Isn’t that your Great Grandfather’s crossbow?”
Lord Silver Fullbuster purposely delayed his response, hoping that in doing so, her Ladyship would pass on the fact that her clueless son was trying to operate a dangerous and obsolete hunting contraption.
Yet Lady Fullbuster was not to be misdirected.
“Lord Silver?” asked she, voice laced with warning. She took Lord Silver’s continued silence as proof of her suspicion. “How can you even allow this unsupervised,” the Lady was livid so that her words and thinking had been all rambled, “experiment?”
The Lady had always been protective of her young heir. Despite their difference of opinion, Lord Silver Fullbuster acquiesced to the Lady’s free reign over his household, which not only included the management of the Mansion’s affairs but, principally, the rearing of their only child – his education and upbringing. Lady Mika saw to it that Gray was raised to be a proper gentleman, fitting of the stature of the heir to the Fullbuster Estate. Not a single person had made a more wonderful job than the Mistress of his household. Yet, worry came to visit his Lordship that his son might have been bounded in his world to actually live it.
“Rest your worries, my love.” Lord Fullbuster took his Lady’s hand to keep her from breaking the party below them. “Oftentimes, I find it rewarding to sail with the tide and make do of wherever life may take us.”
Lady Mika hummed in answer without paying much mind. Her guarded eyes were still trained on the figures in the middle of the clearing. Although the coaxing of Lord Fullbuster swayed her resolve a tad, the Lady of House Fullbuster was yet to be convinced of the woman teaching her son one of the most dangerous tools for hunting.
“I suppose so.”
His words seemed to have their weight on Lady Mika as she let her protest die in her throat. Above everyone else, the Lady of the house knew the rewards of this disposition, for without it she could have never afforded to stand next to her beloved.

@kurogane-redfox approached: "Freed, I may have overheard that yer lookin' for a certain book,"
Tumblr media
Which book was that only Freed (and seemingly, Gajeel) knew. The Dragon held said tome within the grasp of his gloved left hand. It was from his personal collection which was the only reason he'd not yet held it out toward his F R I E N D. While the two of them gave one another crap from time to time, Freed was one of the few people who knew quite a lot about the Dragon and his past. "This is from my PERSONAL collection of books. Which, since ya haven't visited my place yet ya haven't seen the size of, but that's fine. I'm home for a while to rest from my last job so yer welcome anytime."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
     Freed blinked once; he was always looking for new books to read so it was time to discover which one Gajeel was referring to here exactly. Upon laying his eyes on the exemplar in question, a shimmer of different expression flew across the captain's face for a split second.
                         -Ah.
     Where could Gajeel have heard it from? Not many people came to mind, though in this particular case he was glad that it came to the iron dragon slayer's attention and not somebody else's considering the content of the book offered to his taking. Had they talked about this before? They must have. The green-haired man wasn't going to ask which aspects of the book had drawn Gajeel's attention, not right now. Was it the genre? Had it been a spontaneous purchase? Something else entirely?
     Every once in a while Freed indulged in a well-written crime novel and in this particular case there may or may not be a quite raunchy gay romance intertwined with the story even. Of course that was not the sole reason for his interest, ahem.
     "Ah- it had almost escaped my memory." Had it really? The captain cleared his throat softly as he took the book from the other man's grasp. "Thank you, I'll be sure to notify you once I finished it and it goes without saying that I have to visit your place very soon. I have deferred doing so considerably too long. Perhaps I will simply stop by as soon as I finished this book, so I can hand it back to you and finally get to see your collection."

Fairy Tail Avengers AU Random WIPs and Snippets, #1
<Wendy thought she was in for a quiet night, idling in the Compound's infirmary after her Captain had returned that morning with an unconscious man with a metal arm.>
Wendy was pulled, quite abruptly, from her book at the sound of something viciously striking against metal. The force of it was so great, it nearly rattled the walls around her.
The sound came again, and again, before she cast her book aside, leaping to her feet as she hastened to investigate, disquiet already building in her stomach.
No one disturbed her as she rushed through the labs, owing to the fact that all the staff had long since departed by this hour. That thought was something of a comfort, if her hunch on the source of the noises was correct. Under normal circumstances, there shouldn’t have been anyone else there to make any noise. It would’ve been easy to dismiss some distant crash as the result of an unfortunate conflict between gravity and a poorly balanced chair. Under normal circumstances, the medical ward would’ve been empty except for her.
Such was not the case tonight.
The banging carried on, growing louder and harsher as Wendy drew near, until she reached the hall that held one of the medical ward’s lesser used exits. It lead directly from the Compound’s hanger, to be used as a shortcut for heavily injured personnel after flying in, kept separate by a thick metal door and keypad lock to ensure the ward wasn’t accessible to just anyone capable of reaching the hanger.
Grimly, Wendy noted that those measures must be effective, as the man Natsu brought in that morning had been reduced to simply pounding against the door in vain with his fist.
His metal fist.
This was her first time seeing him awake. The man. The man Natsu and Cobra had recovered just this morning after nearly two years of fruitless searching. Her Captain’s oldest friend, thought long-dead only to be revealed as not only alive, but the victim of decades of brainwashing at the hands of Hydra. An assassin of unparalleled skill, wanted in several countries, with a list of kills that went back to before Wendy’s birth.
Gajeel Redfox.
“Mr. Redfox!” she yelped thoughtlessly, well aware that she hadn’t a clue what to do after announcing herself.
Immediately, he stopped his banging, whipping around towards the sound of her voice. The look on his face when he turned to her made something go tight in her chest.
To someone without Wendy’s sense of perception, Gajeel would only appear to be darkly furious. His expression was severe, brows drawn sharply in a scowl, stance large and imposing. But Wendy, trained from birth to spot the signs of someone in pain or distress, could see further, deeper. Decades of pain and fear swam behind those crimson eyes, to say nothing of the maelstrom of terror and panic she could sense raging within his mind. Wendy didn’t think she’d ever encountered someone as drenched in darkness as the man before her.
“Where the hell am I?” he demanded lowly, taking a few steps towards her. “Who do you work for?”
“You’re in the Avenger’s Compound, in upstate New York.” Wendy blurted. She didn’t retreat, nor did she dare reach for her powers, lest this man judge her a threat. “I- I work for them. The Avengers. I am one.”
She couldn't say she was surprised when Gajeel didn’t seem inclined to believe her rambling explanation. Instead of responding with derision, though, he looked at her with something closer to dismay from this shorter distance away.
<skip>
It was then that Wendy noticed the ring of harshly abraded skin at his right wrist, slowly beading blood down to his fingertips. Clearly, the end result of Gajeel’s haste to be rid of the cuffs meant to confine him to his bed. “You’re hurt.” she murmured, speaking to him like she would an injured, frightened animal. “I can help with that. We can go back to medical, and-”
At the mention of the word ‘medical’, Wendy abruptly found Natsu's friend leveling a gun at her chest.
To date, Wendy was fairly certain she had never been sighted down the barrel of a gun up close before. She’d dodged shots from energy weapons, and scurried around machine gun fire, but somehow this felt different. Wendy found she was struck dumb in spite of herself, in spite of her powers, in spite of her knowledge that the man across from her was far more afraid than she could possibly be at the moment.
The weapon was lowered again, though, before she could do more than tense, and now Gajeel’s face was twisted in anguish. “I don’t wanna hurt you,” he croaked out, seizing his wrist with his metal hand when it looked like it wanted to twitch upwards. “I don’t wanna- not anymore. I- I don’t-”
“It’s okay.” almost nothing about this situation was okay, but Wendy was desperate to thwart the downward spiral she could sense Gajeel rapidly approaching. “We don’t have to go anywhere. I’m not going to do anything you don’t want me to.”
The option was there, of course, to send out a piece of her power to quiet his mind, lull him into a perfectly peaceful sleep until Natsu arrived to tend to him. But Wendy found there were multiple factors at play that ultimately stayed her hand. She wasn’t certain she could manage to bewitch him before he caught on to her attempt (her eyes would most certainly give her away, what with their insistent red glow). She had no guarantee her magic would even take hold, were she to try (she was out of practice, delving into people’s heads, and had been more than content to remain that way before tonight). But, more than that, the thought of poking around in this man’s mind, with what little she knew of how brutally he’d been abused in a not dissimilar manner for decades... every fiber of her being balked at the idea of committing such a transgression.
<skip>
“You think I haven’t killed girls like you?” the remark was a dark warning, reminding her of the monster the man before her had been twisted into.
Wendy knew a thing or two about monsters, about twisting. She’d been at the mercy of monsters before, done a good deal of twisting to the fabric of the world on their orders. (She’d been twisted herself, too, her love for one man used to nearly bring about the apocalypse.)
He hadn’t had much of a choice (he’d had no choice in what was done to him), but if he was laying all his cards on the table, then the least she could do for him was to respond in kind.
Raising her hand, Wendy cast her power outwards, settling it around the mangled door where it began to assume its former, unbroken shape. She probably could’ve chosen an easier way to demonstrate her abilities, having only recently started training to manipulate the form of things rather than just granting them attributes, but she didn’t let the effort show on her face.
“You’ve never killed a girl like me.” she informed Gajeel succinctly.

PLOT WISHLIST FOR: Gajeel Redfox
hO BOY CANA BEING one of the many people that distrusts him and despise him but also see’s he’s trying to make amends (for a lack of a better word for it) for the shit he’s done and also she knows something’s fishy goin’ on between him and the master...still she watches him at first. She sees how much he’s trying and yeah he’s an asshole but he still takes the shit thrown at him and he doesn’t try to fight back she sees how damn stubborn he is about proving himself trying to earn their forgiveness and acceptance-- or at the very least their respect.
She’s gonna see if he’s really sincere so fuck it she’ll break the ice first if no one else will and hey bastard come drink with me, if you’re a real man you won’t back down and gajeel just like da fuck is this chick but its a challenge and of course he’s not gonna back down
Soon there’s a bettin’ pool goin’ and pretty soon people are like 'yEAH YEAH GO CANA BEAT GAJEEL’ and this just pushes him further and, as always, Cana wins, but it’s a close one, probably the closest anyone has ever gotten to beating Cana in the guild.
Gajeel takes his defeat in his own fashion, and people start to get pissed bc hey, they lost money but cana’s like haha damn you’re a pretty resilient bastard ain’t ya? claps him on the back all buddy like and grins and pretty much says to everyone without words this guys alright in her book at least and they’ll take it how they will but cana has laid her grudge against him at peace and she wobbles off to go home and gajeel’s like 'oi ya did that on purpose didn’t ya?’ and cana just grins like 'yeah- you had no chance of beatin’ me’ and that just fucking pisses him off like he doesn’t need to be fucking pitied but cana’s like chill bro it ain’t like that 'you held out a lot longer than most though, i’ll give ya that. if you’re really sore 'bout it then beat me- that is unless you’re ready to admit defeat~’ and welp now they have this game goin’ that he’s determined to beat her for real and cana’s like lmao okay w/e bro and they bond over beer and eventually everyone notices that hey he’s not some monster and yeah others aren’t gonna forgive him easily but they’re gonna try because it’s the fairy tail way and it’s at least the right thing to do
also cana teasing him about him making levy big? yes.
cana being one of the few Gajeel can tolerate to be around without being annoyed, because despite her looks, she’s pretty chill and just wants to drink in peace! He can respect that! and yeah, he’d be curious about her future prediction (the predictable question being will he beat salamander? will he see metalicana?) and of course cana doesn’t give out a straight answer and that pisses him off (to her delight) but that’s just how it is!!
ALSO!!!! FAIRY TAIL TEAM B!!!! BONDING!!!!!!!! GIVE ME!!!!!! Because yes, cana is apart of the team and yes, she won them a victory and she damn well deserves the praise and recognition and gajeel? He’d be impressed because she broke the fucking counter
Just bros bonding. Give me.
